Sonakshi and Shreyas on the sets of Joker

Upcoming Hindi 3-D sci-fi fantasy thriller film, Joker, is Shirish Kunder's second directorial venture after Jaan-E-Mann. The film stars Akshay Kumar opposite Sonakshi Sinha and is set to release on August 31, 2012.

It is listed in New Yorks Times for World Best August Releases. The paper wrote, “Joker: Shirish Kunder directs a Bollywood comedy in 3D, et in a forgotten republic founded by former mental patients on the India-Pakistan border. With Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha.”

Apparently, Shirish was excited because ‘Joker’ was the only Indian film that had been listed. When contacted, Shirish said that he was thrilled to get international attention for ‘Joker’ even before the publicity drive had started for it. He reasoned that since the film’s visual effects had been rendered by an international team it had perhaps caught the eye of the foreign media.
