Aishwarya Rai Bachchan at the Amfar gala at Cannes

Besides walking the red carpet at the 65th Cannes Film Festival this year, Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan will also be attending a charity dinner to raise funds for the cause of AIDS.
The 38-year-old new mother will be at the French Riviera on May 24 and 25, attending the American Foundation for AIDS Research (amfAR) dinner and after-party representing L'Oreal Paris.This is a traditional dinner held to raise funds in the fight against AIDS. Aishwarya, a regular at the Cannes Film Festival, will also light up the red carpet on May 25, making it her 11th appearance at Cannes.

"11 glorious years... the journey so far has been remarkable and truly memorable. This year, I am especially privileged as I also get to lend my support to a very important cause at the amfAR dinner, by helping raise funds for the fight against AIDS, at the amfAR auction.

"It makes me proud that L'Oreal Paris sponsors and supports our fight against AIDS through this special amfAR event at Cannes," she said in a statement.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan told Gulf News: "The baby's here in Cannes, but not with me tonight, she's doing well. I can't complain about being busy with the baby because hectic is always being redefined in my life.It was easy to come tonight because I'm not making any films."

She is wearing an Abu Sandeep outfit.
